Field X Morvélo
The perfectly balanced and award-winning collective that is Field Cycles, consists of three people each with their own specialism. Framemaker, graphic designer and painter combine to create extraordinary steel bikes, painted and designed to make them a true piece of art. Tom, Harry and John have crossed paths in various ways around Bristol and Sheffield, but what brought them together was their love of cycling and that eventually led to the creation of Field Cycles.
In their own words, the unique skill sets of each contributor come together in a shared passion that treats the fabrication of a bicycle as an exploration of craft, aesthetics and function.
When Field approached Morvélo about a collaboration we quickly knew that it would be a perfect pairing. The superb attention to detail and unique, creative design that is present on every handbuilt Field frame makes the ideal match for Morvélo's technical and distinctive clothing.
Every bicycle that Sheffield based Field Cycles produces is a fully custom steel build with a handpainted finish. There are no stickers or decals used in the process; every pin sharp stripe, motif and detail you see on the bike is applied in paint.
Tom Smith, designer at Field, says: "The Field X Morvélo design continues our on-going itch to explore the movement and form at the heart of cycling. With hand-drawn details flowing and dancing across the fabrics, capturing the flow of air and firing of muscle. Sharing the same playful detail and bold, contrasting use of colour as the recent bikes to leave the Field workshop."
Field chose our Nth Series Race Jersey and Bib Shorts for the collection as well as our high wicking Baselayer. They wanted a kit which reflected the high quality of their bikes, so it is significant that all of the items in the collection are handmade in Europe with carefully chosen performance fabrics.
We are delighted to present this new collaboration combining Morvélo and Field's love of standout design and quality craftsmanship. The collection is available to pre-order now from Field Cycles.
