Poor sizing

I usually wear size 16, and I'm riding in Morvelo shorts size L. I measured myself before ordering the top and according to the size chart my size was XL. The top came and I couldn't even squeeze my arm in. My friend who is size 10 tried it on and it was hardly fitting her. I'm sending it back, Morvelo please update your size chart.
